Safiya Raheem builds upon her extensive experience in government and advocacy to help a broad range of clients successfully navigate the challenges of the New York City and New York State budget processes.

At the Parkside Group, Safiya manages advocacy efforts for clients across the non-profit sector that provide vital services to New Yorkers in the areas of education, health care, social services, housing, community development, and civil rights.She began her career as New York City Teaching Fellow, working in schools throughout Manhattan and the Bronx. Capitalizing on her educational expertise,
Safiya became an aide to City Councilmember Inez Dickens and later Director of Community Outreach and Parent Engagement for Literacy, Inc. (LINC), where she worked to ensure that the city invested critical dollars in transformative educational programs.
