Stephanie Olcese uses her knowledge of city and state government to counsel some of New York’s leading non-profit organizations in their efforts to secure support from government.
As the Budget and Legislative Coordinator for New York City Councilmember, Mark Gjonaj, Stephanie served as the principal point of contact for non-profit organizations seeking support from the city. She worked with Councilmember Gjonaj, the Bronx delegation, the staff of Speaker Corey Johnson, and the Council’s Finance Division to allocate millions of dollars in expense and capital funding in the city budget.
She began her career on the staff of the late State Senator Jose Peralta, where she assisted thousands of New Yorkers in need and worked closely with local Queens leaders and community organizations. Stephanie also worked at Queens Borough Hall during the administration of Borough President Melinda Katz, in the Washington office of Representative Greg Meeks, and as Queens Organizing Director for former Mayor Mike Bloomberg.
A Magna cum Laude graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York, Stephanie volunteers as a mentor for high-achieving, low-income, first generation college students enrolled at CUNY’s Borough of Manhattan Community College.
